Around the globe, hunger is the defining reality for 2 of 3 people.  Church World Service , using moneys raised by CROP, helps vulnerable people to help themselves. Refugees and displaced persons are fed and relocated. Victims - of floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, drought - receive immediate relief. Our dollars provide wells for clean water, health care and health education, tools and seeds and animals, schools for children, small loans for women to  begin businesses. ... In Minnesota, moneys raised in Northfield, supported development and rebuilding for flood victims and micro-enterprise loans for minority persons.  

Seventy-five percent of moneys raised locally is used globally.

In the Northfield area, Community Action Center provides hunger relief and avenues out of poverty. You and your neighbors benefit from the Food Shelf, three community gardens,Thursday’s Table, and poultry and black bean projects. Welders and Certified Nursing Assistants have been trained. Training will be offered for successful employment. Efforts are underway to develop micro-enterprise loans.

Twenty-five percent of moneys raised locally stays with Community Action Center.

         Northfield CROP Hunger Walk 2008

                    raised $30,664.91.

During the same week, Feed My Starving Children

    raised $26,000+  and packed 171,072 meals.
